Acetaie Aperte, the annual event that invites enthusiasts, curious and visitors to discover up close one of the most authentic patrimonies of the territory of Modena, which is Balsamic Vinegar, returns on Sunday, September 27th 2026.

For an entire day, the adhering vinegar factories open their doors to tell the public not only about the product, but above all about the people, the traditions and the places which preserve its history. Guided tours, tastings and experiences allow one to enter the heart of the production of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena IGP and of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena DOP.

Acetaia Valeri is also going to take part in Acetaie Aperte 2026, ready to welcome visitors in its vinegar factory in Magreta di Formigine, in the heart of the province of Modena.

Acetaie Aperte: a journey to discover the Balsamic of Modena

Acetaie Aperte isn’t a tasting-oriented event only; it’s an occasion to discover what’s hidden behind a bottle of Balsamic Vinegar: time, patience, work and that knowledge which is passed down through generations.

The 2026 edition, organized by Le Terre del Balsamico, brings together the territory’s realities in a large, widespread festival which aims to raise awareness of the exellence of Balsamic of Modena. In 2025 the adhering vinegar factories were 48 and in this new edition the organizers aim to surpass that result.

Visiting a vinegar factory therefore means going beyond a simple tasting: it means entering the places where Balsamic is born and knowing directly who dedicates time and passion to its production.

And this is exactly the spirit with which Acetaia Valeri opens its doors on September 27th.

Acetaia Valeri: not just a vinegar factory, but a family museum of Modena’s culture

There is something which makes the tour of Acetaia Valeri particularly special.

Here, Balsamic Vinegar isn’t the only main character.

Acetaia Valeri is actually a museum, a place where the history of the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena is intertwined with the territory’s culture, traditions and passions.

When one enters the vinegar factory they discover the secrets of Modena’s “black gold”, but they also enter a wider story, made of objects, documentation, testimonials and collections which tell the story of a land and of the people who have lived there.

Among the things that can be encountered during the tour there are ancient Italian geographical maps, capable of representing the evolution of the Italian and European territory starting from 1815, and a peculiar collection of wooden spoons from different parts of the world, testimonial of the universal bond between cuisine, culture and conviviality.

To complete this small journey through memory there are also objects from peasant life, historical documents, and a library dedicated to Balsamic Vinegar.

It’s because of this that the vinegar factory becomes more than a production site: it becomes a place where one can taste, observe, listen and understand.

From paesant tradition to the Motor Valley

Acetaia Valeri’s history is also linked to another big identity of the Modena’s territory: that of the engines.

The vinegar factory is in fact placed in the heart of Emilia’s Motor Valley, and during the tour the history of this extraordinary world is told.

The personal experiences of the Valeri family allow one to discover up close the story of brands which made Modena famous all over the world: Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati and more. Another element which makes it possible to understand how numerous and different the excellences which coexist in this territory are.

Balsamic Vinegar, paesant tradition, culture, cars and history encounter each other under the same roof.
